Organizations
Their are many great organizations that exist in order to fight the death penalty. One of the best ones is called the Innocence Project. The Innocence Project is a group that commits itself to freeing innocent people from prison. They use DNA evidence mainly in order to exonerate falsely convicted people. The organization describes themselves on their website as, "a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent further injustice (Innocence Project)."
The first Innocence Project was founded in 1992 by attorneys Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. So far, they have helped free nearly 300 men and women who had served an average of 13 years for crimes they didn't commit. Seventeen were on death row (Innocence Project). One of the most famous and recent cases is the Dewey Bozella one. Words cannot describe the truly emotional and great story that Bozella's is, so please watch the ESPN made video narrated by Matthew McConaughey to really understand how incredible this story is.

Let Your Voice Be Heard
Campaign to Save Stanley "Tookie" Williams
Many grassroots movements have been created to exonerate prisoners on death row. The picture to the left is an ad campaign that was created for Tookie Williams. This kind of movement was extremely evident in the recent Troy Davis case. If you feel strongly about a particular case that is occurring, please do not just sit and think about how wrong it is. Do something about it. We live in a wonderful country where we are allowed to let our voices be heard.
